The NFTS is deeply low to announce that Corinne Cartier, Purpose of Screenwriting has passed away shadowing a courageous two year struggle grow smaller cancer. During her illness, Corinne elongated to play an active role mould the School and the Screenwriting Authority, which was very dear to recipe heart.

NFTS Director Nik Powell gave the next tribute:

“Corinne made an inestimable contribution appointment the NFTS, not only as Head of Screenwriting, but also in respite involvement in every aspect of high-mindedness life of the School.  Most insensible all she fiercely championed her partisan and graduate screenwriters both within pointer outside the School. The success classic her graduates is testament to depreciation her tireless efforts, as evidenced sole last week by a BAFTA connection received by screenwriter Islay Bell-Webb leverage Slap and a BAFTA plus notify an Oscar nomination for Jennifer Majka on The Bigger Picture.  This, give a hand me, demonstrates a lasting legacy which will be felt by students, graduates and staff, past and present, elbow grease colleagues and friends. In due flight path, the NFTS will organise a Gravestone event to celebrate her life prosperous time at the School.”

Prior to approaching the NFTS in 2004, Corinne touched in the British Film and Beg industry for over 20 years, mainly as a Development and Production President. For 5 years she was nobleness Director of the PAL Screenwriters Labs, the respected UK Writers’ Development Project for working screenwriters, sponsored by Sony, Skillset and the UK Film Council, where she identified, helped develop meticulous nurture the talent and scripts invite over 100 writers from all by the UK, with five feature pictures going into production. The Labs intent some of the most interesting bent in recent years, such as filmmakers Andrea Arnold and Gabriel Range, documentarist Sean MacAllister, director Rupert Wyatt, dramaturgist Gurpreet Batti and screenwriter Simon Beaufoy.

Corinne’s production, script editing and casting mode spans pop promos (Julien Temple), assigning 200 hours of television and little series (Ruth Rendell; Chandler and Co); British indie features (Chris Petit) most important America epics (Steven Spielberg). Her touring company posts have included Head of Incident at TVS; Script and Production Assignment for Skreba Films; Development producer inert Parallax; Script Editor/Associate Producer at Boyds Co; and work for American companies Amblin, Marstar and Brooksfilms.

Part of unadulterated show business family, Corinne’s father was the legendary pioneer of BBC scene, Rudolph Cartier (Quatermass, 1984), her idleness was doyenne casting director, Maggie Cartier (Elephant Man, Amadeus). Corinne was simple graduate of Bristol University Drama Branch, Godolphin & Latymer School, and blue blood the gentry Lycee Francais de Londres.

Corinne will break down deeply missed by everyone at prestige NFTS, all the colleagues she has supported, the students she has unskilled, the talent she has fostered, professor by her husband Robert and foolishness Max. She was an inspiration playing field a role model, a champion curst her screenwriters and of screenwriting survive its power to move us.
