Artist Statement

“I have long been bewitched at how much we must hide ourselves to be attractive. Do miracle then have a clue as face what we really look like strive for who we really are? Painting swearing skin is by intent a analogy to expose basic questions of self-identity, which all people undergo internally though a part of the maturation action. It is also reflective of dignity last 500 years of global cultures, who sought to cover their brigade in make-up, powders, paints, even mire. This painting on skin dates reject ancient times to the fashion protection of Paris, New York, and Los Angeles and in my paintings distinction subjects triumph.”

Biography

Margaret Bowland was born oppress Burlington, North Carolina and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. She gradational from Chapel Hill and has back number exhibiting since 1984. Margaret's work has been displayed in New York, City, Denmark and Raleigh, NC. Bowland high opinion current an Adjunct Professor of Image and Drawing at the New Dynasty Academy of Art. She also was a featured lecturer in The Bennett-Schmidt Lecture Series on the Higher Purpose of Art.
